36 years old male patient with diagnosis of HBV related CLD

36 years old male patient with diagnosis of HBV related CLD was first time admitted to us with ACLF (acute on chronic liver failure) with total bilirubin of 33. He was in a very bad condition . However he was Managed conservatively and transplant done .

His brother in law , 40 years male came ahead and gave a portion of his Liver to this patient.

This patient journey was not easy as many of his donor including his wife couldn’t be consider for donation because of several medical reasons. And finally this donor also has mild fatty liver however he was so dedicated that be lost weight and his liver quality improved.

This story tells is that liver transplant done on time can save life as in this young man.

Also extended donor criteria’s has allowed to expand liver donor pool.
