41 years male patient with Chronic liver disease

Kaushik Chatterji, 41-year-old male patient from Calcutta with diagnosis of Non ciirrhotic portal fibrosis ( NCPF) with Chronic liver disease for plan of liver transplant.

With our experience we identified that this patients recent decompensation is solely related to NCPF and he doesn’t have chronic liver disease as of now. We went ahead and did splenectomy with spleno renal shunt surgery also known as PSRS.

The patient was discharged on day five after the surgery.

He has recovered completely and going back to Calcutta with his wife whom he had bought as a live donor.

Identifying the disease and doing correct operation saves patient life, time and money.
